Abstract
The "Spotlight on Girls" Trenton television crew calls viewers’ attention to the reality of the devastating impact of domestic violence on children. The Spotlight, Girls’ Voice-Trenton, TV crew outlines the breadth of the problem and depicts how the effects of family violence manifests in toddlers, grade-school aged children and adolescents.

The all-girl crew discusses treatment of the issue in popular movies, asks Trenton residents to offer their opinions, and interviews experts in the field to bring various viewpoints to bear on the issue of children and domestic violence.

The show provides action steps that parents can take to, 1) recognize signs of post traumatic stress due to exposure to domestic violence in their children at an early age, and 2) ensure that gender-based violent behavior patterns are not transmitted from generation to generation.
